Reflexology

Reflexology is a powerful natural therapy that can help alleviate many common pregnancy and postnatal complaints. Reflexology can benefit nausea, back and hip pain, constipation, anxiety, high blood pressure, insomnia and fatigue as well as boosting immunity.
Recent research suggests that regular reflexology treatments in pregnancy can help reduce labour outcome times considerably. Reflexology can also aid recovery following birth and may help with some of the symptoms of postnatal depression.

Reiki

WHAT IS REIKI

REIKI is the name given to a system of natural healing which originated in Japan.  The word REIKI ( pronounced RAY - KEY ).  It is the amalgamation of two Japanese words - REI meaning Universal, and KI meaning Life Energy.  It is the vital life energy which flows through all living things, and which can be activated for the purpose of healing.

HOW DOES REIKI WORK

The REIKI practitioner channels this energy through his or her hands to the recipient, activating the body's natural ability to heal itself

REIKI energy goes to deeper levels of a persons being, where many illnesses have their origin.  REIKI works wherever the recipients needs it most, releasing blocked energies, cleansing the body of toxins, and working to create a state of balance.  Helping the recipient to make the necessary changes in attitude and lifestyle to promote a happier and healthier life.

THE TREATMENT

The method of receiving a REIKI treatment from a practitioner is a very simple process.

The recipient simply lies on a couch and relaxes.  If unable to lie down the treatment can be given in a sitting position.  Since REIKI energy will pass through materials, bandages, plaster castes, etc, there is no need to remove any clothing.

The practitioner gently places their hands in a sequence of positions which cover the whole body, holding each position for several minutes. the whole person is treated rather than specific symptoms.

There is no pressure applied, making REIKI ideal for treating children.
